Tamer Refaat Abdelrhman MD, PhD, MSCI, DABR

Specialty: Radiation Oncology
Board Certification: Radiation Oncology
Location: The Leonard C. Ferguson Cancer Center at FHN Memorial Hospital

My education gave me great opportunity to train with skilled, experienced, diverse radiation oncologists, and made me comfortable treating various tumor sites. I have never believed in ready-made treatment templates and my approach is always an individualized treatment plan which both my patient and I design during our initial consult after going carefully through all the available treatment options. My role is never to dictate the treatment, but rather to explain the options, advocate for the optimal approach, and agree with my patient about the best plan. My patients' priorities always come first, which is why I also refer to myself as Dr. Rafaat - it's a lot easier for most people to pronounce! I have demonstrated my commitment to patient care, research and education throughout my career and consistently strive for a higher level of excellence through dedication to my goals.
