Blood Pressure Screenings

High blood pressure, also called hypertension, usually has no symptoms. But it can cause serious problems such as stroke, heart failure, heart attack, and kidney failure.

FHN Community Services offers regular free blood pressure screenings at locations throughout our service area.

1st Saturday of each month, 8:30 – 11 a.m. • Caring Neighbors Food Pantry, 119 W. Main Street, Warren

BMI (Body Mass Index) Screenings

This method uses a BMI calculator to determine height to weight correlation.

Cholesterol Screenings

This non-fasting screening uses a finger stick sample to measure the total cholesterol in blood. Excess cholesterol has been correlated with cardiovascular disease.

Glucose Screenings

This screening determines glucose levels (an indicator of diabetes) in the blood. For accurate test results, do not eat or drink anything other than water for 8 hours prior to testing.

Pulmonary Function Screenings

This screening measures and evaluates how much air and how easily the air moves in and out of the lungs. This free screening can be scheduled with a member of the FHN Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation team. No referral is needed.

Vein Screenings

If even a short walk is painful, you may have problems with the veins in your legs. Venous disease can lead to varicose veins, sores on your legs, or even more serious circulation problems like blood clots.
