Joanne Muzzey, RN, MHA

Specialty: Prevention Specialist
Location: FHN Family Counseling Center – Jo Daviess County

I began my nursing career specializing in Pediatrics at a community-based hospital in the Chicago suburbs. My background also includes community health, staff education, implementation of a patient centered care model, and patient advocacy.

Three years ago, I relocated to Jo Daviess County and became a community-based prevention specialist. I use the Strategic Prevention Framework to support the Illinois Department Human Services Substance Use Prevention Services to decrease the 30-day use of alcohol and the use of e-cigarettes by 12 to 18 year old students. Services include ongoing community assessment, strategic planning, implementation of evidence-based strategies, and evaluation of outcomes.
