FHN Welcomes Pink Heals Tour to Freeport Wednesday, Sept. 20

9/20/2017, 3 p.m.

The famous Pink Heals firetrucks will be in Freeport to raise awareness of breast cancer Wednesday, Sept. 20, and FHN is proud to welcome them to town!

The public is welcome to get a head start showing support for the Pink Heals tour – the local chapter of the group is hosting the brat stand at Cub Foods in Freeport this Friday and Saturday (Sept. 15-16), and official Pink Heals merchandise is available now at Lori's Gifts inside FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport.

This year, kids will have the opportunity to get in on the fun when one of the pink fire trucks and the group's blue ladder truck bring special fun kids' activities to the FHN Family Healthcare Center – Burchard Hills in Freeport. They'll be stationed in the parking lot there (1010 S. Fairway Drive) from 3 – about 4:30 p.m.

While that's going on, the tentative schedule has the Pink Fire Trucks arriving at the Leonard C. Ferguson Cancer Center at FHN Memorial Hospital at 3 p.m. and moving on to the hospital itself around 3:45 p.m. They'll remain at the hospital until about 5 p.m., when they'll head to the Freeport Club for a special volunteer event.

The Pink Heals firetrucks and volunteers will start their day Wednesday with a visit to the Pearl Pavilion Rehabilitation Center on Kiwanis Drive. From there, they'll travel to stops at Lincoln-Douglas School, Cub Foods and Bocker Automotive in Freeport.
