$1.3M Scanner/Gamma Camera Ups Diagnostic Precision at FHN

FHN has installed a $1.3 million combined CT scanner and nuclear Gamma camera to enhance the system's diagnostic capabilities.

The SPECT.CT machine provides exceptional specificity and sensitivity in localizing tumors and infections, enabling FHN's oncologists, surgeons, and physicians to better plan treatments.

The SPECT.CT unit also makes heart nuclear stress tests possible in one day instead of the usual 2 or more, offering more convenience for cardiology patients.

The scanner will be on display as part of the FHN Women's Diagnostic Center open house from 5:30 - 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 24 at FHN Memorial Hospital, 1045 W. Stephenson Street in Freeport. Refreshments and giveaways will be provided at the event - there is no charge to attend and registration is not necessary.
