FHN Urges Caution in Cold Weather; Won't Participate in Luminary Night

12/18/2016, Dusk

Due to the forecast high of -5 (and low of -18) for Sunday, FHN will not participate in this year's Luminary Night activities. Luminary Night is a traditional event for the Freeport neighborhoods of Stephenson St. and Lincoln Blvd. from West Avenue to Park Boulevard.

“FHN's mission is to improve the health of our community, and we believe that Sunday evening will simply be too cold to be outside for any length of time,” said FHN President and CEO Michael Perry, MD. “Since nearly everyone could be affected by this dangerous weather, we encourage folks both in our neighborhood and throughout northwest Illinois to stay safe and warm inside their homes and limit their exposure to the cold.”
