Calendar – Training and Education

Heartsaver: First Aid, CPR & AED, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Globe Room, Lower Level FHN Memorial Hospital, 1045 W. Stephenson Street, Freeport

Hands-on learning program to teach members how to perform high-quality CPR, first aid, and proper Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use in adults, children, and infants. The course is $60, which includes student workbook and CPR certification card that is valid for 2 years. Registration is required. Prenatal Class (Session 2), 5 – 8 p.m.
The FHN/Stephenson County Health Department series of 3 prenatal classes is offered to all regardless of their number of weeks gestation, however, they do correlate a bit with how a pregnancy progresses. Mothers-to-be and spouses/support persons are encouraged to attend these free sessions together. Session 2 focuses on labor and delivery, breastfeeding and a tour of the FHN Family Birthing Center at FHN Memorial Hospital. Small Steps. Big Rewards., 5 – 6:30 p.m.
FHN Family Healthcare Center - Burchard Hills, 1010 W. Fairway Drive, Freeport

This pre-diabetes class, a joint program of the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, helps individuals at risk for Type 2 diabetes take the first step toward preventing diabetes and living a healthier, longer life. Non-fasting glucose screenings will be available to attendees from 5 – 5:30 p.m. No charge; registration is required.
