FHN Announces 2016 Miles And Minutes Winners

Nearly 800 people logged their exercise time to benefit their school district this summer, and five school districts – and their students - will benefit!

FHN's Miles And Minutes encouraged participants to be active and log various types of physical activity to win prize money for the school of their choice.

Winners were chosen in two categories - miles per school system (normalized based on the number of students in each school system to help ensure that all schools had an equal chance to win, no matter their size or how many participants they enlist) and average miles per participant. The winners are:

Miles per School System:
Aquin Schools – 149,258.68 miles ($2,000)
Tri-County Christian – 147,788.66 miles ($1,000)
Orangeville – 130,365.85 miles ($500)

Average Miles per Participant:
Eastland – 431.86 ($2,000)
Orangeville – 308.89 ($1,000)
Pearl City – 296.86 ($500)

"Our goal for Miles And Minutes was to get people excited about exercise, and to reward that with support for schools in our communities," said FHN President and CEO Michael Perry, MD. "Our participants logged more than three million minutes of exercise over the summer, so we feel like it is a double bonus – better health for them and extra money for their school."

The free program had 799 participants who logged a total of 3,080,272 minutes of exercise from May 29 through August 28. (That's 51,337 hours of exercise!)
