Nuclear cardiology uses non-invasive techniques to assess blood flow and the pumping function of the heart. In my role as co-director of the FHN Cardiac Services department and specialist in nuclear cardiology, I use this technology to help me visualize the size and exact location of a heart attack. I am also trained in cardiac CT angiography and echocardiography, both excellent tools to study the structure and functions of the heart.
