In honoring our mission, we are also facing several challenges in the healthcare industry today and in the near future. We continue to struggle with significantly decreasing government reimbursements of Medicare and Medicaid. This makes up over half of the FHN patient base and is anticipated to increase by 5% in 2006.
Healthcare organizations nationwide are also facing upcoming personnel shortages, most significantly in nurses (estimating a national shortage of one million nurses by 2010). FHN is always looking for internal programs to encourage new staff members to join our team. We provide a uniquely warm, friendly, family atmosphere in which to work, and this is directly felt by our patients.
